What you learn
Lớp Lúa is for those who are genuine beginners. You will get to know the basics of tiếng Việt, including its particular tones, tone marks, alphabet, basic vocabulary and simple grammatical structures.
At this stage we will focus less on perfection and more on the enjoyment of learning. If you’re aiming to learn Vietnamese for travel instead of purely for leisure, we will introduce you to a variety of useful cultural topics for this purpose.
How many lessons
As a genuine beginner it will take you around 10 – 20 Vietnamese language lessons to get to know the basics of Vietnamese language.
What you learn
Lớp Gạo furthers your familiarity with the pitch level of the tones and diacritic marks of tiếng Việt. More lexical resources related to your fundamental needs are provided, whether they be for work or travel. Social norms and cultural topics are integrated into the lessons, for example in relation to directions, shopping and eating/drinking.
How many lessons
It will take you around 25 – 40 Vietnamese language lessons to become relatively accomplished at this level of Vietnamese.
What you learn
Lớp Khoai starts to help you learn compounding, one of the most important processes for making new words in Vietnamese. (While Vietnamese is monosyllabic, this does not mean that only one-syllable words exist. There are many compound words that are composed of a combination of simple smaller words.)
In addition, without good pronunciation, Vietnamese people may not understand you no matter how extensive your vocabulary. Hence, allow us to lead you through the process of mastering pronunciation gradually.
At this level, you will study more language for specific contexts, as per your individual needs, e.g. NGO workplaces, business, tourism, education, health.
How many lessons
It will take you around 50 – 70 Vietnamese language lessons to attain a command of language at this level before moving on to the next class.
What you learn
Lớp Sắn develops your ability to differentiate between the three main dialects of Vietnamese (northern, central, southern) in terms of pronunciation and word usage (even though these are generally mutually intelligible by Vietnamese people).
Advanced grammar will be taught, with a focus on mastering all of the four skills of Vietnamese language. We will offer various efficient ways to support you with improving your Vietnamese for specific career or academic goals.
How many lessons
This level will generally take you around 50 – 70 Vietnamese language lessons, subject to your individual goals.
What you learn
Lớp Ngô is for advanced learners of Vietnamese who wish to use the language highly effectively for social, professional and academic purposes.
Students are guided in the comprehension of a wide range of complex texts, including the recognition of their implicit meanings.
Students are expected to understand a variety of Vietnamese accents with ease and be able to produce clear and well-structured narratives. Vietnamese proverbs, poetry and prose will also be used to enrich your learning.
How many lessons
This level will probably require around 50 – 70 Vietnamese language lessons to complete.

Lớp Bơ is for very advanced learners of Vietnamese. Your voyage into your particular academic/professional sphere of learning will be aided by our well-trained passionate native speakers to keep your lessons engaging.
