Failed yogurt
Hello from Huế, Việt Nam.
Today, the teachers from Enjoyable Vietnamese tried their hand at making “sữa chua” (yogurt). The result? A small jar of yogurt with two distinct layers (2 tầng)! 😅 Though the attempt didn’t quite succeed, it was a fun learning experience. Making yogurt (làm sữa chua) isn’t as easy as it looks, is it?
To make any dish, we usually follow a recipe – known as “công thức” in Vietnamese. These recipes might come from books (sách), be passed down from our mothers, or, nowadays, be found easily on the internet (mạng).
For “làm sữa chua”, the essential ingredients (nguyên liệu) include: condensed milk (sữa đặc), fresh milk (sữa tươi), and yogurt with live cultures (sữa cái). Once you have these nguyên liệu, make sure you follow the công thức carefully, avoid ending up with a layered dessert like ours!
In a tropical country like Vietnam, “sữa chua” is a refreshing and popular dessert (món tráng miệng) for sunny, hot days. Stay tuned for more fun công thức and cooking experience from Enjoyable Vietnamese.
